Brief Description:
The Minority Fellows Program (MFP) is a fellowship competition for individuals from underrepresented backgrounds applying to or in the early stages of doctoral programs in political science.
Host Institution(s):
Any university accredited by the national or international body approved for that purpose in the country where the university is situated.
Level/Field(s) of Study:
Must be an undergraduate senior, recent graduate, or other individuals (including students in terminal MA programs) in the process of applying for a PHD program in political science
Number of Scholarships:
12-14 Funded Fellowships Awarded
Target Group:
Individuals from underrepresented backgrounds applying to or in the early stages of doctoral programs in politcal science
Scholarship Value/Inclusions:
The scholarship is an award of $4000.
Eligibility:
- Be a member of one of the following underrepresented racial or ethnic minority groups: African Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, Latinos/as, American Indians or Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians.
- Demonstrate an interest in teaching and potential for research in political science.
- Be a US citizen, US national, US permanent resident (holder of a Permanent Resident Card), or an individual granted deferred action status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program (DACA) at the time of application.
